Why Autumn Is One Of Our Favourite Seasons On The Park

Fruit Trees - August, September

One of the first signs of autumn on the park is the abundance of fresh fruit on the trees and bushes. Over the years, we’ve nurtured a small orchard filled with apple, pear, and plum trees, which always provide a wonderful harvest this time of year. You’ll also find plenty of blackberry bushes dotted around, offering even more delicious seasonal fruit to enjoy.

Entrance Road

As you arrive at Worton Park, you’ll be greeted by a stunning display of Autumn colours! Horse chestnut trees overloaded with conkers line the road into the park, creating a beautiful natural canopy. As the weeks go by, the leaves gradually turn, reaching their full display of golden yellows and vibrant oranges by November. It makes for a magnificent sight every single year!

Walks

For even more colour this season, we love lacing up our shoes and heading out for an Autumnal walk. Many of our business park tenants take the short walk into Cassington on their lunch breaks enjoying the countryside and views over the lake. While each of our holiday cottage locations offer something completely unique from the from the slow life along the Oxford Canal and Oxfordshire Countryside to the hussle of Woodstock.

And if you’re looking to explore a little further, the Cotswolds and Blenheim Palace are right next door! The city of Oxford also stuns in Autumn with its historic architecture and seasonal highlights such as the Oxford Botanic Garden and Harcourt Abouretum.

Log Burners

And what better way to relax after an Autumn walk than sitting and relaxing by one of the log burners. We’ve installed in 6 out of our 7 holiday cottages giving such a delightful treat for warming your feet as the darker nights and colder weather roll in.

Early Sunsets

Then to cap off the day we can be treated to glorious Autumn sunsets which light up the yellow, red and orange colours on the trees. While we’re not the biggest fans of the darker evenings, the chance to see those breathtaking skies helps makes it more worthwhile.

Final Thoughts

Autumn never feels like it stays long but never dissapoints! The colourful scenery, the fresh fruit and the cosy feeling, bring so much joy during a time of year that can otherwise feel a little gloomy as the days grow shorter.
